It’s a small yet hitech village in Pudukkottai Dt, Arandhaangi Circle
Arasar Kulam has been divided into VadaPadhi (North Quadrant), ThenPadhi (South Quadrant), Keelpadhi (East Quadrant/Quarter) and Melpathi (West Quarter/Quadrant). VadaPadhi & KeelPadhi has been mostly occupied by Hindu brothers. ThenPadhi and Melpadhi has been occupied by Muslims.
Major industy is agriculture, and considerable number of people have been staying abroad.
Though Tamil is mother’s tongue of most of the people, there are considerable number of English & Malay speaking peoples.
This is part of Sivagangai Dt parliamentary constituency and Aalangudi assembly constituency, previously it was part of Pudhukkottai Parlimentary and Arandhangi Assembly constituency.
Arasarkulam Jamath:
Mostly muslims live in Thenpadhi(Pettai) part of Arasarkulam. Dr. Jamaluddin is presiding Islamic Jamath with Mohammed Ali as a secretary. Apart from this there is an executive committee. In general, after the jumma prayer, jamath will meet together to discuss general issues and future developments, if need be, jamath will get together on other days as well.
